Our First RV Adventure – Newbies at the Wheel – 5th and final chapter

Our First RV Adventure – Newbies at the Wheel – 5th and final chapter

When we last saw our heroes they were on their way to Robertsville State Park in MO on day 12. Let’s see how they’ve been doing. Day 12 – Upon reflection of the fact that our stay during this evening would take us south when our ultimate goal was north we decided to make a little change in plans and headed instead to Mark Twain State Park in MO. It turns out a good portion of MO is named after…

Our First RV Adventure – Newbies at the Wheel – Part 4

For those of you who have been waiting anxiously for my next RV adventure update your patience is about to be rewarded. Day 6 – We arrived at Arcadia Lake State Park which had some nice water views but was otherwise unimpressive. They didn’t do anything to clean up the trash around the place which was a shame because otherwise the park would have been nice. The guy camping next to us was a friendly sort who offered me some…

Our First RV Adventure – Newbies at the Wheel – Part 3

Our First RV Adventure – Newbies at the Wheel – Part 3

Day 6 continued – After an hour our friendly neighborhood roadside assistant came and took off our blown tire and put on our spare. We took this opportunity to make the 30 minute trip to a highly rated tire shop to get our shredded tire replaced and 20 miles later POW!, our spare tire (now installed on the driver side front) blows (BOO!). Day – 4 The 2 campgrounds we were trying to decide between were a little too far off the beaten path so we started to head north towards Siloam Springs Oklahoma to Natural Falls State Park. We drove through some pretty country and hit a pretty nasty rain storm which…

Our First RV Adventure – Newbies at the Wheel – Part 1

The following story is the first installment which chronicles the maiden voyage in our first RV. This was our first trip prior to going full time on the road. To give you an idea of the timeframe, we purchased our first RV, a 1999 Chevy Express Coachmen in June of 2017, did some renovations and made our first trip starting mid August of 2017. Our adventure lasted for 3 weeks but it set the tone for how we wanted to…

You Better Belize It! Belize is a Beautiful Country!

Photos of Belize taken with my old Iphone 6. The beauty, culture and history of Belize is fantastic. Belize Zoo is the most awesome Zoo in the World! All the animals are rescued for a variety of reasons. The cages are huge and full of natural foliage to mimic their natural habitat. Laughing Bird Key is one of the many Cayes in Belize. I think I could live on the peace and solitude of this island for a short period…

Jaguar Siting in Belize

Jaguar Siting in Belize

Jaguar Siting in Belize. While hiking on our vacation in Belize in 2016 we came across this sign. At first I thought there was a lack of highly talented artists in Belize and then we saw a live jaguar and sure enough… body of a jaguar with the face of Squidward Tentacles. We spent 10 days in Belize.  First staying on the island of Ambergris Cay and enjoying some fun in the sun.  Second we made our way inland to…
